I went to the memorial museum. It was really beautiful and sobering, and the acts of heroism and the calls between people hit hard. It was interesting to hear the timeline and what happened when. And then I got to the part about the Middle East and frankly it felt tacked on.

It’s nerve wracking, and the stress and fear just feel like part of the purpose of it all. My mom was already in the process of getting my grandma’s Medicaid in order at the start of the year, and we weren’t even sure she’d get in at all. As soon as she was in, we got news of this fucking bill.
My grandmother has been a sweet kind person who worked so hard to take care of a very big family, but none of us are in a position to care for her properly. My mom is being strong but this stuff is pushing her to her limit. They deserve better than this broken system.
But even if the home stays open, being attached to a hospital was a huge positive for the place, and it’s bound to affect care. I’m desperately hoping if we can get a dem governor elected she can do SOMETHING about it. I don’t know what, and I don’t like my choices, but I’m fucking desperate.
My mom JUST got my ninety year old grandmother into a good retirement home attached to one of those hospitals, using Medicaid. My grandmother has no money. Card company shenanigans and various other things sucked her savings dry. The home is technically owned by a different company than the hospital
