the retina specialist took a look at the retinal photos and said there would be too many possible causes to narrow it down at a smaller facility and that a university hospital would be a better bet because the ophthalmologists could talk to rheumatologists etc directly
always nostalgic returning to my roots, first drawing software - medibang (now medibangpaintpro!) always said that it’s always second nature to me, clicked widdit right away. now if only the dev spend some time developing extra stuff for keyboard support for the ipad… 👀
we're slowly narrowing down the problem. just hoping the root cause of the retinal ischemia is something reversible. might find out after even further testing tomorrow. going to try to relax and not worry about it overmuch
i cant believe this happened basically overnight. ive scarcely had time to process that its even real and it's becoming clear how urgent this is
so the bad news is there's a problem with blood flow in part of my retina. the good news is they were able to spot it quickly. the middling news is that it could be caused by a lot of things and they're sending me to a university hospital so an entire team can work on it
I can't sleep. I see the ophthalmologist in the morning but I can't stop imagining the worst case scenario. I don't want to lose any of my vision.

i was pretty thorough with my descriptions. it's kind of like when you stare at a light for too long and you get blue or purple spots, or like a soft gray oval of non-vision in my peripheral
well the good news is the ultrasound found nothing. have a follow up with the eye doctor for further testing tomorrow
6 days out from my birthday and I'm in the ER again awaiting a scan to see if a blurry spot in my vision is a retinal detachment. it's one thing after another lately man
