It's just one big party, with two major factions that slapfight eachother but ultimately work together to fuck over as many people in as many countries as possible on behalf of corporations and the military industrial complex. Not very "democratic", if you ask me.
It's not that I particularly enjoy pointing this out, either, it genuinely kinda sucks that America has two parties that fundamentally are really not that different aside from how they treat a handful of social policies, and even then, the Dems seem to be abandoning the cause of transgender rights.
The DNC didn't even endorse Zohran Mamdani, even after he tried to water down some of his more radical policies and reassure the rich people of NYC wouldn't be affected too much. That should be enough to to tell you this is not a party that tolerates genuine left-wing politics.
The Democratic Party that gave you FDR's New Deal, or Bill Clinton's economy, or hell even Barack Obama, is just gone. You have some well-meaning but misguided people here and there but on the whole, the dems are just the left-flank of the right-wing party that's moved very far right.
People (me included) been calling them that since day one. What *I'm* waiting for is for people to realize the Democrats are collaborators, performing fake opposition. It's not a good performance, either. They're every bit as part of the harmful establishment as the Republicans.

Also keeping an eye on Kirby Air Riders, as a new Kirby game directed by Sakurai after all this time is a pretty big deal. Plus that new 3D Donkey Kong game is a pleasant surprise all-around.
Very interested in seeing what comes of that Mario Kart World direct coming down the line, though. Unlockable outfits(?) are nice, and the open world mode looks like it could be fun. I'm also quite happy that a bunch of the minor bad guys get to drive cars now. This would be PEAK to 11-year-old me.
Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was surprisingly well-rounded and well-paced. Nothing felt like wasted time, despite it being an hour long. That being said, I'm not paying $80 for a singular video game.

In Super Mario 3D World, whenever the player characters are wearing blocks on their heads, their upper bodies are deformed underneath so they can fit inside without any parts poking out. By moving the camera inside the block, the extent of the deformation can be seen.

In Super Mario RPG, the statues of Mario and his friends that are put up in Nimbus Castle are not real statues, and instead actual clones of them that are painted gold at runtime. They even have "found me, huh?" dialogue that is unused because they are prevented from speaking.
I think these people are playing Half-Life when they seem to really be wanting to play something like House of the Dead or CarnEvil. Obviously not a knock against those games, I'm just saying it sounds like they'd have a better time with those.
