What do I know , I only listened to every true grunge early cassette as they came out in the late 80s and 90s. But it’s true. I abandoned the ship as it got commercial so i have no idea how long it sailed or to where after that

maybe I’ve heard 2 Creed songs but it sounds like the vocal child of Pearl Jam, already a grunge light band compared to a Mudhoney or Tad . But that scene seems to have started with harsh vocals, harsh guitars to slowly mutate into deep voiced emotive man rock, I don’t know where the genre border is

When I was young the difference between Nirvana & say Creed was that Nirvana ruled & Creed sucked. But it goes much deeper than that. Nirvana was aggressive but w/ an unwieldy, imperfect beauty. Creed is content, satisfied, seeking nothing. This battle within grunge was progressivism vs conservatism
