Do you recall how Barr misrepresented the Mueller report as clearing Trump…and news organizations took his statement as credible and basically said “no story here”. And bad as Barr is and was, he’s 10 x more honest than the current White House denizens. So why report their statements credulously?

I’ve been thinking Trump would not fire, or try to fire, Powell because the blowback from Wall Street would be too much: I.e., TACO. But if Powell shows him up, as he appears to have done (and kudos for doing that), all bets are off; wouldn’t be surprised if in a day or two Trump tries to fire him.

Pretty sure the real litmus test in 2028 will be whether or not you did everything possible to oppose Trump, by that time recognized by almost everyone as the man who killed the economy, put millions out of work, shut hospitals, hugely raised prices and destroyed faith in the U.S.
