I made scones on Sunday. Mrs G said they were good but she prefers them a little more crumbly. Today she's realised she likes slightly stale scones.

All the Tory shops tbh. When I go to Booths, I make sure I let them know a pleb is in tha house. Last time I went in I bought a bag full of their expensive cocktail cans and took em to sit in the park and drink with Mrs G :D

I realised that. Some things just have different associations depending on... well what you associate them with!

Bar staff tend to hate it too. Part time drinkers I always think. A gig venue I go to regular, some gigs seem to attract queuers. Others not. I end up wondering if I should like the band if they attract people who queue at the bar. I've also tried to encourage people to go to the bar... They won't

youtu.be/3YRhIrUJN7A?... I grew up watching this on VHS. My lore. But never mind my black and amber tinted glasses. Watch an insane good game of RL. Look at the speed of it. And keep in mind Wigan are fully pro and Castleford semi.

Think the last time I was in a church Carl Cox was playing. This might as well be as different as if I went to an actual service

Son has been to secondary school just a few weeks and is already starting to get youth slang. Got asked today what Six Seven means. Told him I don't know (I don't) and that whatever it means, I'm probably not meant to know

Listened to the Nine Inch Nails score for the new Tron film. I'm biased, clearly. But they waaaaaay off the mark set by Daft Punk. It's not even bad, in fact it's pretty good. But the DP one was just levels.

The EU has been far too slow and has been on just about everything in supporting of Ukraine and divesting from Russia. Pointing at the chimp in the whitehouse isn't good enough. There is sufficient capacity to end imports immediately
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
The remaining can be cut immediately. There's sufficient capacity in Europe. Italy and France export electricity.
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
Hypothetically they could sell for no profit. But in reality, countries need to stop buying it. There's no get out card for those funding Russia, blaming price caps.

"the issue isn't the (purchasing of) hydrocarbons" the bit in brackets because in the context of our discussion I can't see what other reading a person is meant to have of it. These countries have had plenty of time to stop funding Russia
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
The US Norway and Algeria have done a lot of the heavy lifting. Plenty comes into the gas storage in the UK from Qatar the US and Peru. I dare say there's some north sea for sale. And increasing renewables (and nuclear) of course.
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not entirely sure this is correct. At least for the western allies. France and Italy are no longer dependant
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
Can't make profit on what isn't sold. Why don't you want these countries to stop buying Russian oil and gas?
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
Don't care about what the orange baboon says. 1.72 billion oil and gas imports in the first quarter of 2025 is too much and could be cut further if Ukrainian allies stopped.
chris_grey___ (@christophergrey.bsky.social) reply parent
France, Belgium Italy and the Netherlands I believe still import Russian gas.
