I made scones on Sunday. Mrs G said they were good but she prefers them a little more crumbly. Today she's realised she likes slightly stale scones.

Bar staff tend to hate it too. Part time drinkers I always think. A gig venue I go to regular, some gigs seem to attract queuers. Others not. I end up wondering if I should like the band if they attract people who queue at the bar. I've also tried to encourage people to go to the bar... They won't

I recall boomkat mentioning they had spice girl influences in their sound. Perhaps the guardian are influenced by boomkat in their writing. Either way, super album

Mrs G persuaded me into a good mattress a long time back. They're wonderful. And yeah plenty of walking, need to look after your feet for sure.

Yeah I'm in a fortunate position to be able to afford them and the way I see it they save me in the long run. I was burning through a pair of Timberland every couple of years. I buy a lot of the rest of my clothes second hand too helping me feel it wasn't too much of an extravagance

It's barely above minimum wage as it is. If it's salaried with no OT then it wouldn't take much to make it under minimum

Got tickets to go see Johnny Jewel again. Actually had a quick natter and a photo with him last time. Guy is an absolute unit, I expected him to be quite small.

"A couple with two children, aged three and seven, needs £74,000 a year between them." Grief. Probably very similar amount for a single parent as well.

But yeah, the ritual and that pop have a special kind of magic.
