The biggest compliment I can give to Silksong at this early stage is this, the hype is irrelevant. The game is so special, it feels noise canceling. No reviews? 8 years of hype? Crashing storefronts? All of that becomes noise the further you dig into how meticulous this game is.

So far, it’s an improvement on a top 5 metroidvania for me. I can't complain about exploration cuz that's my favorite part of HK, and it’s even better here.
It's hard in a souls way of "don't sleep on these mobs, they will fuck you up". Resching into my Bloodborne bag of getting really efficient at dispatching low level enemies and recognizing micro patterns in bosses.

The biggest and most important leap to me is the world. The first Hollow Knight was very mysterious and engrossing because of all the things it left unsaid and implied. Silksong ups its mystery with more concrete details, characters & breadcrumbs. It’s somehow less dark souls and more resident evil.
It's hard to pull away from it. Like these lads really did it, they really made good on a mountain of hype.
The way team cherry just carefully fine tuned everything. Enemy variety and encounters, mire devious and delicate platform, bosses that hit way harder. It's all great and just as engrossing as HK1
