It seems to me if the press & congressional electeds had focused this intently on the Epstein files in August and September 2024 instead of waiting until now, the election very well might have had the opposite result and we wouldn't be struggling through trump's shit right now.
Prediction: GPEC and the rest of the Arizona business community will still put their money behind whoever ends up being the GOP candidate running against her next year regardless of how hard she tries to appease them.
I think she's the most effective state wide elected we have right now in terms of presence, visibility and efforts to represent and hear from the entire state.

I agree but they need to do it in a way that is authentic. What Newsom's doing works for Newsom. I don't think it'll work for many others. But I think that there are lots of ways Dem electeds can be more vocal and effective.

While the results have tightened over the past two cycles, we've been trying to unseat Schweikert for years now with no success despite his ethics "challenges." I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe the upcoming midterm elections will put a Dem in that seat but I wouldn't put money on it.
Many people don't. For those on the right that do, online sources include stations like OANN which simply mimic the format of the 24/7 news stations. Finally, much of what's available online simply regurgitates and reinforces what's on the 24/7 news channels as one big news punditry ecosystem.

I love how being a Phoenix sports fan (Suns, D'Backs, Cards, Rising) is mostly the team has one good year and we get excited thinking the franchise has finally turned the corner and will continue being successful but it turns out to be just dumb luck and we go right back to our usual sucking.

I get the impression when prosecutors fail to secure an indictment it's b/c they didn't really want one but had to go thru the process anyway, usually for optics. As someone who practices in this area - do you think that's an accurate impression?
I agree. Problem is that it turned out that except in emergencies, people don't actually want to actually watch real news 24/7 which is why CNN Headline News failed. People want to be entertained. A bunch of talking heads spouting noise & providing confirmation bias serves that purpose for them.

Totally agree - it's been a long time since I've seen a dust storm blow through central Phoenix like that followed by the sideways rain. I love the first drops which are always like a foot in diameter when they hit the windshield. Glad you didn't have any damage.
