Our community and religious leaders know the stakes. Trump must stop the chaos, corruption and cruelty in his own administration and stop endangering Americans.

What an incredible example and celebration of hard work paying off. In my four years of college football here are two of the many lessons I treasure: 1. Grit and Hard Work pay dividends far beyond what we realize. 2. There truly is a great abiding power in Teams. We are all on the same team.

As we mark the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina devastating New Orleans and towns big & small across the gulf, I grieve with the people in the region for the loss they’ve experienced and the long road to rebuild since.
This is how it should be in our Nation.
We must rally around the Annunciation Church community in sorrow in the days and years ahead, but we cannot let another school year pass while we accept the routine murder of children in our communities.
Just days into the new school year and children have once again been killed in what should be one of the safest places in their lives. This is a moral failure.
The horror of children being targeted like this is almost unbearable and a grief that no family and no community should have to endure. Congress must act to end the terror of gun violence in this country.
This morning's shooting in Minnesota was an unspeakable tragedy. These young children, full of promise, were gunned down and wounded while gathered for something as sacred as a church service at school.
This is not who we are. We must join together to call this out, to make more people understand what is happening and work to stop it.

For over 50 years, she led the Fair Housing Council of Northern New Jersey, transforming lives and communities. Fueled by her own experience, she challenged discriminatory housing practices—from government policies to individual prejudice—and helped thousands of families access the American dream.
For 98 years, our world was blessed by the love, generosity, and fierce determination of Lee Porter. Until her final days, she gave herself fully to the fight for civil rights and the work of building the beloved community.
