A man who was being held in a Manhattan police precinct station house on Friday was found unconscious and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to a city official. He is at least the fourth detainee in city custody to die in a little over a week.

I 100% agree! So frustrating! No kings was such an aspiring event and a huge turnout! Now it seems like even indivisible national has given up! At the worst time!! People are desperate for a collective voice, and I thought we had it, but I think I was wrong!!
I don’t know I felt like there was an energy when we had these big protests and then they just stopped endorsing them. Or they would wait till the last minute to tell people about it. I’m just super frustrated! How are the people supposed to organize this without a collective voice?

As a teacher of politics, as i go into the new semester, I keep wrestling with the fact that so much of what I teach is premised on the fact that the USA is a democracy. And now this clearly can not be taken for granted.
