I think we have to seriously consider that this may well have been a false flag operation performed by crisis actors with a body double of Kirk. The Repubs ha e taught us that this kind of thing happens all the time so maybe here too.
Letโs make one thing clear from the start: Charlie Kirk was the victim of a shooting in a country where he, along with other right-wing extremist influencers, have been inciting violence for years. โ Kirk is neither a martyr nor a hero, he is a cause.
I am genuinely confused by all this pageantry. He was not an elected official. I cannot think of another time a regular citizen being killed garnered this response. Itโs perverse.
Charlie Kirk spent his lifeโs work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and weโre now not supposed to mention that because itโs not polite.
The most telling thing about this saga is that the mainstream media, bipartisan politicians, the New York Yankees, etc, would not be doing any of these "a nation mourns" rituals, if a shooter had taken out Charlie Kirk's next big debate opponent, Hasan Piker, instead.

There's so much handwringing about whether violence is acceptable that ignores the fact that violence is utterly normalized - normalized one way only. If violence was unacceptable, Palestine would be free, almost all guns would be outlawed, and Trump wouldn't be president. Violence is daily.
"Political violence" is a term that exists to suggest a moral distinction between "violence against politicians" and "violence by politicians" - so that one can be condemned while the other can be normalized. Obviously, no such distinction exists in reality: violence is violence.
