Made me wonder if I should even teach the documentary CRUMB given that is could be read as obscene by bad faith actors, but ironically is about the double edged sword of freedom of expression.
How are my Texas colleagues adapting or not adapting course materuals to SB 412, the obscene materials/minors law? Seems like all bark and no bite given it’s overruled by SCOTUS 1A protections, but scary nonetheless.

Day 1101 of Interval Training: Back to the LA heatwave - did a 5K+ walk to get some errands done. Got a giant coffee on the way back.
Then I started worrying that I was gonna be the emergency landing guy and it’ll be because of a gummy. At at point, i was like I’ll take my chances and die of the heart attack on the plane and save the embarrassment from becoming a meme.
I took a gummy before my flight last night and had such a horrible panic attack I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. My heart rate got so fucked up my Apple Watch was like “Hey man, you went from 70 bpm to 160…. You ok?”
15 years ago today, I lost a close friend to suicide. Obviously, I think about it a lot - probably once a week.

Day 1099 of Interval Training: Finally getting back into it after almost a month off. Did a 5K through our old MKE neighborhood and down the lakefront. Beautiful Monday morning.
Thanks so much to everyone for making time for us - it has been such a wonderful trip and glorious early fall Wisconsin weather. Hard to believe we only have two days left…
And Ronald for Zaffiro’s pizza at the Pfister with some Toki high balls and New Glarus Spotted Cow. Excited to hit the Brewers game tomorrow with the Morton clan for dollar hot dogs and a win over the Phillies.
Nicole and me have had a great two day stretch of visiting good friends and family, paired with great MKE food - Neal, Catherine, and Autumn with some Apollo gyros, Lakefront Brewery beer, and Culver’s custard. Armida, Alma, and Harbor House for Mama A’s birthday brunch.

I should have respected Wisconsin enough to know that we can fry cheese. Lighter than expected, not greasy, great seasoned breading, thick and wispy cheese. You can also feed a family of six with a minibat sized cheese stick and I’m thankful my nieces were close by to help.
Saw this at the MKE Food Hall and Nicole - a mozzarella stick scholar - needed to try it. I was a bit cynical and feared it would be greasy and heavy fairground bullshit.

Day 1095 of Interval Training: Still haven’t shook the runner’s knee. It’s getting there - ran about 2 miles this morning - but it just feels slightly off still. Oh well - at least I’m moving.
Bought way too much pizza and gave a complete leftover pie to the guys outside the nearby 7-11. They complemented my Mohawk and were totally jazzed to get some deep dish, so win win.
I’m so drunk of Malort and beer because we went to the British pub across the street from our hotel and it was all Oasis fans. So we’re currently using our upgraded hotel suite for a deep dish pizza taste test contest. 🤣
