Yeah agree. Escalating punishment? By the time you get caught for the 5th time you might have serious consequences. But then you should really go further back and look at social programmes and why stealing bikes for a living is a thing people might want or need to do.
I did everything I was supposed to as well. It was chained to a bike rack, in a secure garage, with a tracking device. I'll be keeping my new one inside my apartment.

Update: I called the police and was told because it's a block of units they can't just knock on doors and accuse people. Fair enough. So... What if I went with you and got a more precise location? Madr the airtag make noise? ... no.
No apparently the airtag isn't accurate enough for a warrant and they can't just knock on doors. Offered to go with them and make it ping. The answer was no. No reason, just no.

Had a bike stolen but it had an airtag on it! 2 weeks later the airtag is still active at a very specific residential address. An address known by police and described as "a place a lot of bikes go to die".

Personal request - the ability to remove all offline/disconnected devices at once! I just moved house and I'm having to either start from scratch or remove a mass of devices.
