I had the same experience and my doctors did not take me serious until I got real sick with Covid in 2022. That’s when everything got so much worse. I didn’t even know what EDS was.
I think some of our politicians could use some. Maybe finally they would take the disabled community seriously.
Sometimes you really have to cut out a toxic environment for your own mental wellbeing. No regrets.
Remember, this Holiday season is different for everyone. You don’t know what someone is going through. Maybe they have lost a loved one and this is their first holiday without them. This may not be a happy time for them especially having to spend the Holiday without those lost. Be kind to others.
As it should be. But sadly, people don’t understand the importance of healthcare or accommodations until illness strikes them. It’s sad.

It’s alright. I finally got my placard but not for my conditions of EDS or POTS. My doctor finally gave me one when I was diagnosed with Small Fiber Neuropathy from a biopsy. At least I got the ending result.
Sadly, it will be the stain of our country.

On a really bad day, it’s really hard for me to get out of bed without feeling vertigo, lightheadedness, joints and muscles aching in severe throbbing pain. On my good days which are few and far between, I can get up and do some chores but usually I am met with a flare the best day that lasts days.
It’s so hard. I had a doctor who wouldn’t listen and I basically told them. “In order for me to go out and go places, I need this placard in order for me to be independent” It’s like they don’t care for you to be independent.
I am chronically ill. Would love to be added. I’m hoping to soon turn my page into sharing accommodation ideas.
