John likely had undiagnosed or untreated ADHD. He was intelligent, smart, and talented. From early childhood on, he was impulsive, accident-prone, forgetful, misplaced things, and failed the bar exam more than a couple of times (likely due to short-term memory issues). Allegedly, a good, kind man.
