Our supermarkets have huge ranges of international cuisines. African, south asian, east asian, south American, Caribbean, eastern European, on top of the normal western European fare can all be found in most large stores across the country.
The effect has been going on arguably longer than many other countries experiencing multiculturalism. It's gone on so long it's become part of our cultural DNA. We are a mongrel nation and proud of it (except for som ill informed right wing nonces).
It was a 2 way street though, much to the surprise of the empire. Those cultures the empire sought to colonise slowly but surely colonised the UK. It obviously was to a lesser extent (not claiming colonisation was good for the colonised obviously) but it's had a long time to work its magic.

TBH mate Ive worked in a ton of kitchens. If a dickhead customer returns a dish for a bullshit reason, such as a dry dish not having a sauce, you don't spend 30 minutes knocking together a brand new dish from scratch. No you bang together 2 ingredients, pour it on top and send it back out.

We all work short term fixed contracts usually 3-5 months and move between production companies from job to job. You have ti be able to quickly get along with peeps from a lot of backgrounds and make creatively interesting shows. The upshot is, most tv peeps are quite left wing outside of news.
Literally everything else is made by independent production companies not the bbc. Most peeps working in TV have a specialization but the nature of the TV production market atm means we don’t have the option to stick entirely in it.
As the majority of peeps working in newsrooms are rich white people there’s a bias towards Conservative Party thinking there which is what we see from bbc news.
Won’t happen. The news structure for the bbc is wildly different to the rest of it. On the bbc news side you still have a majority of salaried staff working “in house”. If the work in politics then an awful lot of them will have a goal of working for a political party in coms.
