Yes, it just bothers me to see media continuing to use the term "conservative" to describe a political movement that is not conservative in any way. "Reactionary" is the correct political science term. I can't understand why journalists continue to use an inaccurate term instead of the accurate one.
By definition, conservatives seek to go slow and conserve institutions. Reactionaries use radical action to overthrow the status quo, dismantle social and economic institutions, and roll back progress. The Republican Party under Trumpsm is not conservative, it's reactionary.
