Games preservation has only gotten more important as time passes with studios shutting down, teams breaking apart, and developers typically not owning the rights to their own work. It would be nice if there was an industry-wide effort, but I’ll take piracy over relying on shareholders to care.

Don't look to people like these two to be your leaders and "save the day". Instead, be a leader in your community and start from the bottom up with initiatives like mutual aid.
My key takeaways from playing Destiny Rising: GOOD: There are cool and unique characters to play as (when you unlock them) with largely the same Destiny gameplay you'll remember. BAD: It's a gacha game, complete with all the typical bad business practices that's made to be more addictive than fun.
