Jupiter and Venus at 4am this morning, against a sprinkling of Gemini stars I missed out on their closest apparent approach, which was yesterday, but they'll remain very close together in the early Eastern sky for several days yet 3 moons of Jupiter are visible and labelled More in the ALT text π

When magnetic fields near sunspots get twisted and tangled, they can suddenly snap and release energy, thatβs a solar flare. Sunspots donβt directly βcauseβ flares, theyβre the areas where flares are most likely to erupt. If that makes sense?

In 2024 and 2025, we are near the peak of Solar Cycle 25, so sunspot activity is relatively high, with daily sunspot numbers frequently in the 50β150 range.

When stars go BANG! Managed to do a bit of imaging last night. This is the supernova SN2025rbs in galaxy NGC7331 in Pegasus, which outshines its host galaxy of thousands of millions of stars. Taken with an Esprit 100 refractor, ASI2600MM camera and LRGB filters. Total integration 1h 40m. π

In the end, It will boil down to personal choice people have to make between wanting to purchase art created by someone's hand or a computer. But again, it's all so subjective, isn't it? If you are an artist you'll always be an artist. That won't be lost amongst the world's technological advances β€οΈ

I think AI has its place and has made brilliant impacts, however if you are a creative person, that won't be taken from you, that's yours to keep forever. There are bakery shops that can cook 10x better than I ever will, but do I still bake? Yes! Because I make for myself, it makes me happy.
