That's a good question. NPR's approach has been refuting when mentioning them, such as "Trump made claims of election fraud, without providing evidence," for example.
On that note, I wish that we had kept and expanded the Fairness Doctrine, to apply beyond just broadcast media. To cable, online news, social media, etc. It mandated presenting balanced reporting, but it was later abolished (thanks, Reagan). If we had expanded it, we'd be a more informed society.
I feel that. And I had the privilege of once (1) receiving a few free products and posting about them. But I made absolute certain to follow those FTC rules with prominent disclosures. Even without those rules, I think it's best to practice transparency.

I actually thought the story would've been infinitely better if it simply have a gorge 🤷♂️ Just spitballing here, make it a Romeo/Juliette romance with two people tangled up in political machinations that are bigger than they are. Make it a focused, suspenseful, action packed romantic romp.
