The concern over this confuses me. So somebody has a bunch of crypto assets and wants a mortgage. In 2024, they could trade for USD, apply, get approved, and then trade back to crypto. In 2026, they may be able to just list the crypto on their application and get approved. What's the difference?
(And people with crypto assets can also sell them for a couple of months when they apply for a mortgage. The asset snapshot at time of application doesn’t tell you much.)
