That’s me outside our Quonset hut, (half was ours) Soundview, Bronx, 1947.Today this is my sound view. “ Some of my best friends are gentiles” won’t save you. In the eyes of one side, the other, or both, you and your family are among the bad ones.

Joan Hickson: Miss Marple : Season 1 Episode 8: includes the bloody ear trick employed by the murdering shooter on herself to divert suspicion. “You know, my dear, “said Miss Marple,” an ear bleeds very heavily when nicked by a blade.” Murderess even sports a plaster on her lobe.

It is disturbing and puzzling that they haven’t figured it out over the past 9 years.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
They should. Of course. But what if the press looks the other way. Pritzker gets mighty little coverage in the NYT. Am I missing it but it seems to me that the main press outlets are quite uninterested in promoting evidence of resistance to authoritarian posturing, threats, and initiatives.

The problem was, is, and will be a lack of major investment in education. Our fellow citizens think that public “investment in education” is giving their money to other people’s children.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
But John Roberts doesn’t take all that statistical gobbledygook seriously. Remember Rucho v. Common Cause? A mere 6 years ago. Pretending to be an idiot to own the libs.

Many years ago, I took in (until he managed to get himself deported) a vagabond Kiwi fencer and tunnel hog (Rex H.), who a friend of mine had met traveling in Europe. She had yet to return and gave him my address. I still have the telegram he sent to my wedding in ‘69 and some wonderful memories.

True.

In my most humble layman’s view, Roberts is the single most destructive government officer of the past 77 years. He wins, in part, on persistence, dissemblance and vision. And he has outstripped some very, very strong candidates.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
So these political social “scientists”exempt themselves from the class of experts. Inconceivably a good faith effort. Granted I’m only reading your characterization of the argument. …”as much …as was supposed”. Well quantified I’m sure . Must have Richard Epstein as their counselor.

On every level, from any rational, spiritual, biological, psychological, anthropological, sociological perspective Johnson’s statement is deranged. We are at the mercy of inhumane degenerates until this regime is gone.

Credentialism Perry? Scholars are sounding the alarm. Somewhat slow the thoughtful intellectuals who are looking way beyond “beyond a reasonable doubt” to credit their own eyes and ears. I guess they thought he was kidding and that they were hallucinating. So only now the shit’s on? Infuriating.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social)
Our media is feverishly looking for the motive of a deranged school shooter while complacently accepting the self justifications of our deranged President. Too stupid for words.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
There is reason to be concerned about the sizable minority, dull-eyed or otherwise, who are drawn to the violent expression of their opinions on other people’s bodies. We are seeing a proud army of thugs being assembled. And IMHO the Weathermen were regressive, even though I bailed one out in 1968.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
IMHO….the greater concern is the blood lust of the vast army of power hungry self-righteous citizens…

I do not think John Roberts gets the credit he deserves. Nor do I think that DJT gets the credit he deserves for being our greatest interpreter of John Roberts’ oeuvre.

David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
That idea is, in my view from New York, utter nonsense. There are affluent New Yorkers who think it’s all good, say, for instance, Lutnick and his coterie. But most of my neighbors are paralyzed with impotent rage. And for good reason. We are outraged and impotent. Violated every day.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
He need not fret. John Roberts is the dreamer whose dream is being realized. DJT is his tool. DJT has no vision. He has appetites. We are seeing Roberts idea of our nation being made real.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump walks nowhere. Every utterance is to establish a pretext. Argument is fatuous and ineffective. The only tactic is to attack. And a strategy requires coordination. And of that there is no apparent evidence. But perhaps the governors are getting it together.

David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m of the opinion that it’s Roberts who is using this moment to achieve his goals. Barr gave him the court he needed by using Trump then handed him off to Roberts to complete the job when he decided to fade into the background. But again. It hardly matters.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
I meant reverting to an 18th century understanding of human rights but at the same time rolling ignoring the deist beliefs of the founders and seeking instead to establish a dominant religion. It is unfounded in law altogether. But call it what you will. Roberts installed Trump.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent
With Gorsuch and Kavanaugh now on the offensive against the last shreds of respect for law in the judiciary, do you believe that Roberts is anything other than the architect of the constitutional revisionism we are undergoing? DJT is his chisel against the stone of the deist base of the republic.
David Sansespoir (@dmgerstein.bsky.social) reply parent

The point is that the times are out of joint. Of course this is the successful outcome of a long term project. Born in the response to FDRs activism, fully fledged in the response to LBJs Civil Rights Act. The psychotic transformation is that this age’s Fireside Chats are the press gaggles of DJT.
