I know of a couple of good Russians. Garry Kasparov and Ilya Somin come to mind. They are strongly opposed to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, responded sharply to Hungary’s decision to ban him from entering the country, where his father was born: “Shove your sanctions and entry ban where the sun doesn’t shine, Mr. ‘dancer on graves’,” he said, referring to PM Orbán.

Not really. A glut in the US market from local wines might mean lower prices in the short term, but they will cut production due to cost constraints and raise their prices due to the fall in competition from abroad. The US will produce less, and American wines will be more expensive.

These are the four principles of the IHS. Trump and Vance are not "liberals" in any of the senses. American contemporary conservatism has mostly rejected the "classical liberalism" of its past, and is fundamentally illiberal, nationalistic and corporatist/mercantilist.

Pharma prices in the US are low in generics and high in patented drugs. Instead of rewarding companies with monopoly power and then forcing them to lower prices, govt should propose patent reform to increase competition.

You can negotiate free trade agreements without imposing tariffs (and indeed more successfully) but I don't think you can negotiate being a member of the #EFTA (and not the EU) without having left the EU.
Jim Doepp (@doepp.bsky.social) reply parent
The difference being that support for Brexit was really a coalition of different ideas and ideologies, including people like Dan Hannan who wanted to leave the EU but remain in the single market (similar to Norway or Switzerland). I think this is still a possibility, but it will take time.
