Back in I believe 1975 we saw a concert with Tommy James and the Shondells opening, then Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, and headlining was Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons. Tommy James, as the opening was amazing and Frankie Valli was too into himself and didn’t care about the audience.

Today in Disneyland, 9/2/1979, The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction opens in Disneyland's Frontierland. The "wildest ride in the wilderness" takes guests careening through dark caverns and abandoned mines. It replaces the more sedate Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland.

San Francisco was a great place to grow up in the 60s and 70s.
Actually both relaxing and busy. Yesterday we took our youngest grandson, he’s 9, to a Pacific Islander Festival, today is our friend’s annual bbq, and tomorrow dinner with our son, his new fiancée and her mom. We need these good times more than ever.

I believe they needed to find a way to expand beyond families with little kids to survive. It was a way to attract a new demographic. The Elliott Brothers were wildly popular in Disneyland in the ‘60’s.
