Sacramento is a special place with a tight-knit community fabric. We understand that when we invest in people, when we protect workers’ rights, and when we lift each other up, our entire community thrives. That’s why we will always fight for a union-strong economy where everyone can succeed. [2/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
Every year, the Sacramento Central Labor Council’s Annual Labor Day Picnic brings us together to celebrate with the workers and families who keep our community moving. Together, we honor what workers have built and stand united to confront the challenges ahead. [1/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
Happy Labor Day! Our unions are the backbone of Sacramento’s progress. Supporting strong unions, workplace rights and safety, protecting collective bargaining, and making sure working families are healthy is always a focus in everything I do. I will always fight for our unions.

I talked to vendors who had been coming there for years – folks who are working hard everyday to support their families and be an active part of their community. Small businesses fuel our communities – and I will always ensure they get the opportunities they deserve to succeed. [2/2]

For decades, the Galt Flea Market has attracted entrepreneurs from all over the Central Valley. It is a testament to the power of hard work, entrepreneurship, and community coming together to support one another. [1/2]

I will use every available resource at my disposal to fight back against Republican attempts to silence our public broadcasting affiliates nationwide. [2/2]

KVIE is a cornerstone of our community. From trusted journalism to children’s educational programming and cultural content, public broadcasting enriches our lives and connects us to one another. Public broadcasting is under attack, but I know KVIE is in great hands with David. [1/2]

I’ll always be here to lift up OCA and work with them to make sure our community stands up against inequity and injustice. [2/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
It’s always fantastic when we can all get together to uplift the amazing work OCA Sacramento has done for our community. OCA is a beacon for our AAPI community. From fighting for social justice and equal opportunity – to community building and civic engagement. [1/2]

That’s why I was proud to help secure more than $3 million for Heritage Oaks Park. Parks are more than green space – they are where families gather, where kids play, and where communities thrive. [2/3]

One of my top priorities in Washington D.C. is to ensure that federal investments don’t just live on paper – they make a real, tangible difference here at home. [1/3]

ICE still prevented me from doing my duty and my job to protect our neighbors from alleged inhumane treatment. They can try to hide their actions, but Sacramento is united. We are watching. We won’t let up. [2/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
Today, I returned to once again conduct congressional oversight of the ICE facilities at the John E. Moss Federal Building. This time with Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra, County Supervisor Phil Serna, and California Immigration Project advocates to demand answers and transparency. [1/2]

I am heartbroken by the mass shooting that took place at Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota today. This was the first week of school, a start to a new chapter and what is supposed to be a joyous time for our kids. [1/2]

This morning, I asserted my constitutionally mandated authority to conduct oversight of ICE facilities at the John E. Moss Federal Building. After reports of gross mistreatment of detainees, I demanded answers. In clear violation of the law, they barred me from entering. I will be back.

Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
As we recognize the 90th anniversary of Social Security, it’s time to not only protect it, but to enhance it. Instead, Republicans are once again trying every trick in the book to privatize Social Security and reduce the amount of money you are entitled to. [1/2]

The Congressional Budget Office’s most recent analysis of Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill confirms our warnings. Everyday Americans will carry the burden while Donald Trump’s friends get richer. Health insurance premiums for Covered CA plans are slated to increase by $2,110 for Sacramentans. [1/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
Data doesn't lie but, Donald Trump does. The last 8 months have given us confusion, higher costs, and economic instability. We need rational and well thought out economic policy that allows everyday Americans to flourish, and that’s what I will always fight for.

As we honor National Health Center Week, it’s important to recognize that health centers do more than treat illness – they promote wellness, dignity, and hope. For many, our health centers are the only place to receive care, from routine checkups to mental health support. [1/2]

Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
The Trump Administration’s attempts to strip access to health care away from people are cruel. Thanks to this ruling, people enrolled in Medicaid can still access essential care at Planned Parenthood. This is how it should be, and how it should stay.
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)
Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill is already causing devastating consequences. Planned Parenthood clinics are a lifeline for individuals & families who depend on access to essential reproductive care, cancer screenings, & preventative medicine. I'll always fight for the health & dignity of our community.

The Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program was passed with broad bipartisan support because Americans know that it is past time for rural America and our most underserved to finally get affordable, fast, and reliable internet. [1/2]
Rep. Doris Matsui (@dorismatsui.bsky.social)

The Big Ugly Bill is the largest cut to nutrition assistance in American history. It cuts $186 billion dollars from SNAP. That’s about 20 percent of the program. Republicans are literally taking food from children, veterans and seniors. I'll explain what that actually looks like for Americans.
