What if "the world as you'd like it to be" is one in which people are seen & differences are respected? Is that such a bad influence on young minds?
Well for a long time it was hugely disproportionate the other way... And before that the much of the media tried to pretend that sex didn't exist. Representation is a *huge* deal & it matters to everyone, not just those in the minority.
It's not just queer kids who need to know that they are fine & normal - everyone needs to know that. Knowing that queer folks exist isn't "pushing" anyone. Even if it pushes buttons for folks who want to deny them. Even a "gigantic, heinous, immensely powerful" media corporation can do a good thing.
Nor do you "groom" them to be homosexual or bisexual or asexual - they simply ARE homosexual or bisexual or asexual. But you can, & should, let every kid know that "normal" is being who you are, not conforming to the majority. Get your head around that, it will lower your blood pressure.
It's almost like there is a god & she's trying to send a message...
