Someone reportedly had $20k. Not sure if that included ED visit, bite damage repair, etc. That’s a common reason I see. Some people just don’t take it seriously. You’re not wrong though, vaccinating animals would save people a lot of money and it’s declining.

Here it’s often people getting bitten trying to rescue wildlife or strays, not understanding bat exposures or rabies risk, and then shots being really abhorrently expensive. The resistance to being vaccinated is less of an issue I’m seeing. The declining vax rate in pets is going to be a big problem
