The stories about the suicidal teenagers being encouraged by LLMs are incredibly triggering and heartbreaking. The internet was a fucked up place when I was a teen, but it also probably saved a lot of lives of hurt kids who needed community and found other *humans* who helped them through it.

I remember the ‘No obits’ headline as a time of hope, not of relief. I had lost more friends than I can count to AIDS. Just months earlier I had received my own diagnosis. I was told I should live another 20 years. That was 27+ years ago! HIV treatment is more effective than we guessed. 🙏 science.

The Père Lachaise cemetery, so worth spending a day there finding famous graves and just walking around. Go to farmers markets, buy what you need for an impromptu picnic; spend an afternoon in a nice cafe for some people watching; go to the Musée de Cluny; catch a train to nearby cute, old cities.

Another last minute birthday present, this time a #crochet magic wand and fairy-ish crown for a 5yo. The wand was made using bits of and pieces of yarn, a rhinestone, an old balloon stick, pipe cleaners, beads and quite a bit of clear glue. Hopefully, it doesn't look too much like a fried egg 🍳🪄🧶👑
