It's funny how angry the UK left is about Labour recognizing the Palestinian state. They really want to downplay its importance, I would argue, *because* they hate the idea that anyone's done anything. The UK left really manages to out-own goal the US's left who blame Democrats (only).

The only thing even remotely historically accurate about the Alien: Earth series is that androids will tend to fight biologics by grabbing them by the jaw. More realistically they'll put their fingers in your mouth and their thumb under your jaw and then flip you upside-down or just fling you.

Andrew Bellware (@drewsky.app) reply parent
Gah! Character count. So the EC is essentially like the parliament electing a PM. If you have a multiparty democracy that CAN sorta work but only if all the people in the EC are elected proportionally and they are free to wheel-and-deal for votes for President. But I'd rather that were in the hands
Andrew Bellware (@drewsky.app) reply parent
Yes. I mean. The EC is silly. I feel that there's a distinct mathematical problem otherwise. If you want a multiparty system but you're voting for a single office (President) then you run into a Condorcet Paradox issue unless you do ranked choice. Unless you use the EC the way a Westminster sys work
