They will likely refile, but as I read it, they have to restate their complaint in legal terms, not just Trumpy kvetching about newspaper coverage. What exactly is the legal basis for their suit? Since they don't really have one, it'll be a stretch to comply with the order.
Not a lawyer, don't play one on the internets, but if there is a page limit requirement for complaints filed in federal court, as a bare minimum the lawyers ought to know that. If they don't know it -- or if they ignored it -- they're incompetent.
So Oct. 14 is to be a 'national day of mourning for Charlie Kirk.' I propose to commemorate it as a day of mourning for all victims of gun violence. Charlie Kirk will be very low on that long, long, long list.

I used to work for the Democrat and Chronicle. Seems to me the post-war era of so-called "objective" journalism (never was such a thing, really) was an aberration. If you go back and read old newspapers from the 19th century, there was a lot of cheering in the press box.

Media - and social media - is a supply problem with a demand solution. Stop watching. Log off. Your time/attention is the currency. Take sports. One can listen on local radio. Go watch high school or minor league game. At worst, watch at a bar and support a local business. It can be done.

The kind of leadership we don't need. I haven't seen anyone paint the shooter as a 'good man.' Even if anyone has, a few posts on social media don't represent half the United States. A U.S. Senator is in a position to crank up the heat or help turn it down. He chooses to crank it up.
I get the impression that Kirk cultivated friendships among journalists, and that his offline persona was much more affable than it was online. So anyone who knew him personally is more likely to defend him or dismiss or minimize his online nastiness.

Got this from a friend of mine -- that it was inappropriate to point these things out at this time. Kirk was a public figure; he sought attention, he espoused a vile, white supremacist ideology. The manner of his death does not change those facts.
