We actually used our hand-crank USB charger/flashlights when the power went out in the freeze, to charge my battery/handwarmer (and then our phones from it). When you use a handcrank charger to charge that, you get a little warmed twice!
I mean, I'd kind of rather never need my tourniquets and quik-clot gauze, and at the opposite end of the seriousness spectrum I've had bandaids' adhesive go unsticky before getting all the way through the box. Definitely still good to know it's there though.
