Yeah but when you look at the pre-conference championship game rankings, 2-3-4-6 are in the semis. And 1 lost to 6 and 5 lost to 4. Pretty much the best teams are there except Oregon crapped the bed/tOSU went nuts. The top 4 seeds lost, not the four best teams.
