The @nytimes.com ran a whole story about the murder of Venezuelan civilians on a ship as if it were a military matter and we were at war with Venezuela. It was a crime. The story never mentioned that Trump ordered a criminal act and the Navy followed an illegal order. This is a major event.

Had a long convo with my ex about world developments on which we mostly agreed. I also reiterated how in my position as a Black woman, an immigrant in Austria, as an American citizen, that my sense of impact and concern is of different nature than his. At last, he got it.

When a large language model generates human-sounding text, it doesn’t consider the impacts of its words, because it doesn’t consider. It has no self. But we do. We can choose whether to normalize and encourage the use of these destructive platforms. I know what I choose.

Two highlights from my day in elementary PE: 1) PreK was feeling tired after we read our story, "Giraffes Can't Dance," so I put on some classical music and we did a "tired dance" which included sleepwalking, standing and falling and just rolling around on the ground. 🤭
I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
