Oh the pain of being Finnish. You can be watching Patrick McGoohan's personal-political masterpiece of the Cold War, hollowing democracy and the self via Kafka and Warhol, and all you're thinking is "holy shit, is that Number Two sitting in beloved Finnish design classic the Ball Chair?".

Screenshot from the Prisoner episode Dance of the Dead. Number Two is in fact sitting in a Ball Chair.

Babylon 5 did lots of in-universe tv broadcasts, like news reports, at least one documentary and panel discussions. They were still part of the narrative so not quite what you mean, but they still did a lot to make the world more alive.

I'd argue there's minor things, like Wendy/Nyla and Maisie/Ireesha are implied to be couples, Sabina's fans are all girls, two of Suletta's opponents in 13 are girls and thus trying to marry Miorine, and no one bats an eye when they realize Suletta and Miorine aren't just fake engaged anymore.

Contrary to its reputation, The Prince isn't that bloodthirsty of a book. It does think a prince must be capable of ruthless action if necessary (it was a brutal world), but a major theme is that you must not oppress your people. The book's ideal prince is more Tywin Lannister than Joffrey.

I didn't really get BL before getting into Gundam, but it turns out thse kinds of complex, obsessive male relationships are actually really compelling. He'd have absolutely helped you, McGillis, and Carta too. All you needed to do was talk to them honestly.

08th MS's director Kanda dying in a car crash, 00's second season's plot being a result of executives overriding the original plans, a SEED affair whose details I don't even want to repeat; all things fully invented by Western fans.

Yeah, looking it up, there's apparently lots of collections. The numbering starting at 114 just threw me off.
