I also hated the book but that's 100000% because I hate Victor, and he narrates almost the whole thing and if I can't stand the narrator of a book, I won't enjoy the book, even if I can appreciate its place in the literary canon ...but I am still interested in this film lmao
okay it seems like Adam is a name commonly given to him in adaptations which to me is for obvious reasons so I'm pleased with 15yo E for giving him a different name lol but yeah in the novel no I'm quite sure he's unnamed
lmfao in 1991 Beauty & the Beast the Beast's name is supposedly Adam and yet his name also is actually nowhere in the 1991 film. as I recall the creature doesn't get a name in the book, although I see on Wikipedia that he got the name Adam from a different character in some film adaptation

nothing in fiction will ever piss me off as much as Victor Frankenstein, when Justine is in prison for a murder HE KNOWS she didn't commit, being all "woe is me, Justine at least has the knowledge of her innocence to sustain her, but EYE am TRULY the miserable one"
I was so mad about this book that I gave the creature a name (Godfrey or something similar, don't ask me why I chose that name)(the point was I was mad he didn't have a name)
well you can tell SOMEONE did not spend high school writing impassioned essays about how the creature is the victim and how Victor is an emo edgelord who takes no responsibility for his actions
actually methinks the person writing this article has never read the source material and is basing their own understanding of past Hollywood adaptations (although admittedly I've never seen the Hollywood adaptations so maybe the person misunderstood those too)
