The road to authoritarianism is littered with people telling you you’re overreacting.
Trump’s mobilization of the National Guard, ICE, and FBI in D.C. has nothing to do with safety. In fact, violent crime has hit a 30-year low in D.C. It’s plain and simple—this is what authoritarians do. The Trump regime is attempting to instill fear, create propaganda, and consolidate control.
To resist a fascist, we need to counter their lies with the truth. Trump’s lie: the city is crime-ridden and needs federal law enforcement. The truth: this is an intentional attack to harm Black and Brown people and gain complete control over D.C.
Here’s a tip. Siding with the illegal, genocidal invader and pressuring the heroic nation that was invaded to give up stolen land in a fake “peace deal” won’t win you a Nobel Peace Prize, Donald. It makes you complicit in the invasion and genocide, and a at best a puppet of the genocidal invader.
