The USDA had an incredibly successful anti rabies program destroyed this year. Those clever nerds created treat that raccoons, coyotes, etc loved. They filled them with an oral rabies vaccine and tossed them out of small planes and trucks where needed. Rabies rates dropped like a stone. All gone. 😢

To be clear: if you are bitten by an animal whose rabies vaccination status is unknown (ie, all wild animals, and possibly some domestic ones), seek care, and suggest that the doctor speaks with the state public health department (MN’s is excellent- I call them at least once a month!)
