Finished Chapter 5 of SRW Y. This is actually my favorite game in the franchise.
Rice Shower and Mihono Bourbon...
Gold Ship strikes me as a grade repeater that purposely gets held back because it's funny. She's pretending that she's not actually a grade skipper.
This is like, the only time so far Knight has had a different portrait sprite from his default expression. It's great.
Their dynamic is so good. Domon's the responsible eldest, Shinn's the somewhat moody but earnest middle child, and Suletta is the newest and curious youngest child.

My trio of Domon, Shinn and Suletta have absolutely been destroying everything.
Yeah I don't know if it's just me, but Nu Gundam feels really underpowered compared to the other main Gundams. Amuro VA issues aside, I don't feel inclined to use him.
This is the SRW experience. Especially if it has a lot of your favs.

I remembered how a lot of friends and I talk about the idea of Shirabe being a barista for a cafe, and I just pictured her saying "You're getting decaf" to an entitled customer.
Dude. The way they did this chapter is so much cooler than 30 with how the Zero System wasn't detecting things, but Baku's predictions let him know something was wrong.
It feels a lot bulkier, yeah. It's kinda nice to see that every single series involved do have enemy factions to fight (aside from G-Witch since S1 didn't really have that).

I think what's even more vile is that they constantly have Kallen and Allenby comment on it. You know, Kallen who lost Lelouch to C.C. (in the movie timeline) and Allenby who lost Domon to Rain.
Kamen Rider Gavv It might have started running out of steam by the end, but I'm happy to firmly put this show into my top 5 Kamen Rider series. Fantastic characters, action, music and a gripping narrative. All great stuff.
Not to mention tossing in L-Gaim angst too. This is an evil chapter.

This. This here is the interaction I was hoping for the most in all of SRW Y. My two favorite Gundam protags being goobers together. I am so happy. I love this game.
Several more hours in SRW Y, and it's kinda crazy that I kinda forgot about the DLC. The story is really fun and gripping that, despite popping off for Kamen Rider W, I'd have been fine if he wasn't announced.
In addition, there's a lot of extra bits in-between series too. I saw you got Kallen before Shinn, so you got that convo between them. I did the reverse, and the result is an extra small segment where Shinn and Lacus have a small conversation, something that hasn't happened ever in CE Gundam.
I think it's an inherent advantage with the lack of the route splits, as everyone is always together, meaning everyone can comment during the story events. It helps that a lot of the crossover interactions are in chapters instead of optional onboard convos like 30.
In comparison, Y has Shinn mentioning he fought against both Kamille and Kallen in the past, being mentored by Domon resulting in becoming friends with Rain, and a growing friendship with Suletta and Miorine, and this is still relatively early on in the game.
I noticed this too for SEED Destiny. Like, if I'm to compare it to its last appearance in V, the most notable parts Shinn has in terms of cross-series interactions is noting he fought Setsuna before, and drawing comparisons of Salia's situation to his own. That's kinda it.
Considering Suzumura would have to rerecord lines for Gridknight, I'm not surprised. I noticed Shinn has new ones against the Dark Army and Wulgaru.

I just finished the maps for Char's first appearance and Amuro's recruitment. This is actually the gayest the two have ever been in SRW. It's crazy.

Domon and Shinn was a top 3 interaction hope I had for the game. I'm so happy it's real.
