The LLM said sure we will do that, Ill just create this one directory called shared though and put files that are common to all 3 in that We are copying and duplicating files that are shared because we are splitting the project up into separate directories This is common working w/developers too
Andrew Bills (@evilspyboy.bsky.social) reply parent
I was just breaking up a big project that has 3 separate applications in the same directory because it was important for maintaining context for the LLM to be in one repo to start with, but that is going to change I told it we are splitting them up and that they need to have standalone directories
Andrew Bills (@evilspyboy.bsky.social)
I will say that working with large language model programming tools is a LOT like working with actual developers. Especially when you ask a very clear thing and it decides to do something completely off topic and you have to get into an argument and tell it explicitly each step to do something

Not a helpful answer for you but I use LLMs for rubber ducking when I have complex technical designs. I don't know if you know what rubber ducking is, but this is helpful because for real people apparently I am very convincing and they don't question. Which is less helpful for actually validating.

The count is about right, I reduced the range for my 'mobile device count' given the theoretical range is 100m line of sight and I wanted more like 10m max.

(it is a mobile phone/people counter which is a bit more tricky now from the last time I looked at this as MAC addresses on Android and iOS rotate more aggressively - BUT that does mean I can use sampling to only count mobile devices as older & fixed wifi does not change addresses)

This is just for me, I might choose to integrate it into a local assistant possibly. But this was just 1800 lines of training data and I have probably 30,000+ available. Fastest way that I can assess new tech is by finding the outer edges. So I'm doing this to try on a tinyLLM
Andrew Bills (@evilspyboy.bsky.social)
Because emerging tech is one of my things I have to play with new tech and understand how it works, limits, etc for future reference. I spent the last week'ish building out something that converts my social media into data for fine tuning a LLM to sound like me. I may have nailed it.

I can make a list of the SaaS services that you should stop investing in. They should be well past worried. I finished some high priority stuff and started on low priority complex ones to see how far I could push it. Yeah, this is the one that will be a problem for the 'no code' niche SaaS models.
