I just finished playing and posted a thread.
The game says I am now winning out of me, the Klingons, the Romulans, the Cardassians and the minor powers but I don't believe it. The borg are coming and I have no idea how to build more ships currently so I and therefore the galaxy are a little bit screwed.
And even though the Cerritos has been doing sciencey stuff and can fight it gets classed as a fighty ship so you need to send a separate science ship as well. So it's really very weird.
Except most of the game still says that science ships survey fighty ships fight and in the big quest missions like the borg you need a science ship and a military ship
The thing is makes sense that the main Star Trek content are the little missions and anomalies and Star Trek does have a few scattered ships going hither and yon but in Star Trek the science ships are the war ships and they are badasses. And the Cerritos is like that. It can be fighty and sciencey.
I hope I am doing something wrong and missing something obvious because I fear the game is either deliberately balanced like this or I got unlucky and haven't rolled the command limit tech yet.
So far the galaxy has been peaceful because of my charm offensive but the Borg are coming, the Hobus Supernova is coming and the Dominion are probably coming and so far all I can do to boost my firepower is unlock the Enterprise via special event. I can't even retrofit the Mirandas to be Intrepids
I basically glitched my way into having more by building so many so fast that when I was given the Cerritos as part of story progress and the Betazed fleet as part of integrating them I got them on top of the max amount I could build.
I have also integrated Betazed because it turns out the way I win is by being so incredibly nice to people that smaller powers voluntarily join me. Which is good because aside from having basically no influence I seem to have no way to build more ships.
I have researched the Intrepid class and am still chummy with the Romulans and the Klingons without a single skirmish between us. A couple of TNG plots from episodes have happened such as the planet of the Matriarchy and and the incident where a Klingon and Federation ship caught a parasite..
Okay Star Trek Infinite update. The Borg have been sighted and Hugh recruited. Spock and Admiral Nechayev recruited as well as Sloan. I have now realised where the Enterprise is. I have to build it in a special story mission tree, this is very cool.
