Things have gotten better in Linux in the 10 years that I wasn't using it. It appears more stable, and it's an easier install than windows these days. Can't help you with gaming. I don't game. But every other part of the transition was relatively smooth.
Resolve certainly does work on Linux. But you will end up swapping out some apps in all likelihood. I already used calibre, Libreoffice, and a few years back I switched from using SQL Server for my database work to Postgres.
I've just switched from Windows to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. I have run Ubuntu as a daily driver before, last time a decade ago. It's mostly a matter of mapping workflows across. In my case, I had a 70 TB media library, and reformatting the drives from NTFS to ext4 was a lot of work.

I'm not very worried about current approaches producing AGI. LLMs & diffusion machines were a huge improvement on prior art, but they're likely just modules - speech and vision -- in any eventually self aware machine intelligence.
