Your option sounds good too, I just feel like the iron is never going to be hotter with Athena and Toni than it was at the last show. I will push back a little on my fantasy booking critique though on two points. We don't get to worry about defending titles when Mercedes has so many already

I think having Athena with both belts would have been incredible tbh. My fantasy booking was Athena win both, Mercedes beats Athena for the ROH title after Athena hits 1000k with shenanigans but still keeps the AEW title and beats Mercedes clean to defend it and says she'd never lose it.
I'm not sure where you got the three months from? If Athena had gotten the belt at the end of August and held it until March (6 month reign) for Toni to win it back to lose in August to Hayter. Then we could get my current dream match of Athena vs Hayter on a PPV but that's just for me 😂

It really is wild the difference feeds makes in reach for the AEW audience. I can tell when I forget to include something that doesn't have something that triggers it getting on the feed just based off of if it gets any likes. You get the algorithm you want over this way would be how I describe it
Toni Storm should have dropped the AEW Women's World title to Athena. I love Toni, but she could be doing exactly what she is doing without the Women's belt. Toni should have put Athena over and then elevated multiple people by deciding between tag partners and could have circled back to the title

HBO Max having AEW shows both live and then recordings bei g available the next morning are the only thing I use it for. Best thing I spend money on every month but smart pro wrestling (or just regular pro wrestling) isn't for everyone and I haven't seen anything else on there really so makes sense

Juice vs Ricochet was an amazing match
Just really hammers home the MJF character being a slimeball using his friend MVP like that, even kissing his ass with the wrestling gear. It also established the Hurt Syndicate as tweeners, something I think AEW is lacking in terms of depth. And put over their personalities in the segments
I think it worked for what it got accomplished but you're right that if they had tried to stretch it that wouldn't have worked. I LOVE the story of MJF trying to use the Hurt Syndicate for his own goals, Bobby calling it out, MJF getting the boot, and foreshadowing Bobby-MJF.
I don't mind the story but hate that it's getting out. I prefer to be a mark any day of the week

Between AEW/CMLL/NJPW there is plenty of other wrestling content to cover. I would love to see people fed up with the Fed and their fascist-supporting right wing ideology come over to the AEW fandom. It's refreshing to be proud of the project you're watching morally on top of the talent.

I haven't watched the match but saw the submission and thought it looked great. Also a much more sustainable finisher longevity wise I feel like; the O-Face has to be hard on the body and could be her super finisher

What's nice about AEW streaming on Max is when I'm having a rough mental health week (which is every week at this point) I'm able to watch it in spurts. Between making sure I'm in the right head space to enjoy it and also having it as a crutch when I'm doom scrolling has helped me out tons

The promo that got me back into professional wrestling. Growing up in the same environment as Eddie Kingston, I was instantly hooked. Best promo in the business
CM Punk back in like 2012 or whenever that was had the shirt and everything. I know he's lived long enough to become the villain but that run was the last time I watched wrestling until AEW started so it sticks out for me.
