Counting down the minutes to when Trump says "He just made the best speech at the UN, probably the best speech ever". That was the most insane speech, made by a leader in front of a bunch of other leaders...ever! It was like senile grandpa after too many Sherries spouting off at a family dinner.

25yrs ago I spent quiet a lot of time in Russia. Friends use to say that Putin was a dictator, although we in the west hadnt fully grasped that reality at the time. Today in the US, I'm getting the same vibes. In some respects a lot worse - as a non native, even in Russia, I didnt feel this unsafe.

Some of my friends are Russian ex-pats, and nearly 20yrs ago they were saying how Putin was a dictator, before the West realized. Those same people are now saying the same thing about Trump, except most of them point out he is far more open about his intentions than Putin ever was.
I have to believe that Republican Senators aren't worried about voter backlash, as they probably know that elections from this point on, wont be free and fair and pointless anyway. Obviously the rule of law and Constitution are secondary to kissing the ring of the Orange King, for them.

First thing that should happen is that the EU ratify Ukrainian EU membership immediately, before Trump sells out to Putin. This would likely force a large block of NATO members into peace negotiations that I suspect Putin and Trump would exclude otherwise. It would also make Trumps brain explode.
