When you talk to AI and ML true believers, the answer to every problem is “more data,” but when the people with the most data still can’t tell a hit from a flop or make art anyone likes, maybe they’re just wrong. Maybe “more data” isn’t the answer. Maybe it’s the problem.

It's also important because these tendencies toward aggression, superstition, and conspiracism also show up on the left. This is how crunchy moms become antivaxers become fascists. These fascist tendencies have to be fought everywhere because they all lead to the same bad place.
This is important because it shows how we fight fascists: they do ethnocentrism, we celebrate diversity. We mock their superstitions as silly. We counter cynicism with a vision for a better future. We call them weird for obsessing over other people's sex lives.
I'm becoming very attuned to the use of "we" in writing. It often comes across as projection from the author. I don't want to be put in a group I'm not in.
The word isn’t used but you can get it from context. They only have empathy for their in-group.

Pretty important to understand that Hitler was inspired by American eugenicists and America’s treatment of the native population. Americans like to think of fascism as something that happens in other places but it’s always been a reflection of US.
It’s genuinely terrifying that supposedly smart people with large audiences still have a grade school understanding of fascism. (And still want to bend over backwards to conceive our present moment as not-fascism.)

FWIW, I felt the same way about the SNL dude with the mustache (looked it up: Beck Bennett) who was just randomly in Superman for no apparent reason. Kinda broke the spell the movie was casting. Maybe I just hate SNL more than most.
They are surprisingly easy to grow if you have some dirt and sun. Not nearly as fussy as the spicy peppers.
I hate to say it, but none of the humor in Peacemaker season 2 is landing for me. Tim Meadows is rehashing shit that was unfunny on SNL decades ago. The dialog that’s supposed to be funny is just grating. The dramatic beats are totally working for me, but not the humor.
