When I was a kid (long ago and far, far away) each McDonalds outlet made their own french fries out of real potatoes that arrived whole and were cut and cooked on site. (Although I do not believe there was ever any milk in their "shakes", even back then.)

I was unusually slow on the uptake as a kid. It puzzled me when my father would occasionally enter my room and say suspiciously, "You're not playing with yourself, are you?" What…? You can see for yourself I'm the only one in the room. Who else would I be playing with?

More's the pity. At work I'm forced to use a Dell Windows 11 machine. Doesn't suck as bad as XP but that ain't sayin' much. M/S assumes its users are dumb as a stump and designs UI "features" it =thinks= such users need, while making things difficult for someone who knows what they're doing. :Ăľ
But still cheaper (and faster!) than a Cray-2.
My Power Mac G5 finally died (power supply probably went south); replaced it with a then just-released (just in time) Mac Mini & transferred my 4 hard drives to an OWC enclosure. I was gobsmacked at the enhanced wonderfulness. [Pro tip: buy as much memory as you can afford—it cannot be increased.]

I use a camera rather than, say, paints & canvas or pencil & sketchbook. I think of myself as an artist; I call myself an artist. It's all a matter of how you look at it. As it were.
