The lack of mainstream media coverage is absolutely deafening.

This describes most major media outlets, I believe. As of this evening, NOTHING in the NYT. The media yet again shows us its fecklessness in the face of tyranny. Kinda like Congress and scotus.

Don’t get me wrong - I recognize plastic containers are a pox on the environment, but our system has adjusted to the lightweight and cheap production costs of plastics. Gonna really hurt to change it.
freelib.bsky.social (@freelib.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ve wondered about the practical economics of a return to glass. It’s a much greater weight per bottle than plastic, meaning reduced shipping volumes and increased shipping costs. Seems like it would make distribution costs prohibitive, and glass costs more than plastic to produce.
freelib.bsky.social (@freelib.bsky.social) reply parent
Read that again - “motivating rather than teaching”. This is bullshit. We don’t need teachers to be “influencers”, we need them to teach. And this is not a criticism of teachers, but of asshats who repeatedly, despite history, try educating without really teaching.
