The pure technical costs for running Bluesky are astonishingly small. Policing/moderating gazillion posts across the whole globe with different jurisdictions is a different story. The at protocol will probably land in a foundation like e.g. the Linux Foundation with sponsoring entities (my guess).

Bluesky/atproto is not "dying" and it does not need revenue. It is a protocol like SMTP (aka email) or RSS (aka mostly known as podcasts these days). Bluesky/atproto also does not need gazillion people constantly posting cat pics or memes. Relevance matters, that is still high here.

The amount of tokens for OpenAI that get pushed through OpenRouter is tiny compared to what gets pushed through other means (direct API, AWS Bedrock, etc). Esp. at that time. This proves/shows nothing, it is just a statistical fluke.

Has LLM progress slowed? Initial reactions to GPT-5 were mixed: to many, it did not seem as dramatic an advance as GPT-4. Benchmarks may help clarify the picture: GPT-5 is both an incremental release following many other OpenAI advances, and a major leap from GPT-4.

The bike lane infrastructure in Paris was amazing. I couldn’t get over how many cycle lanes there were. The city is incredibly bike-friendly, with countless protected paths that are fully separated from cars and traffic, making it safe and enjoyable to get around on two wheels.

This meeting is very interesting, but it does not change the fact that both countries are rivals when it comes to who will be the dominant force in Asia and who will dominate the world market with cheap labor. It is extremely unlikely that e.g. India will surrender to China or the other way around.

Not sure if this is applicable here, but the LHC also uses machine learning to filter out data early. To combat this spiral and probably for calibration and other tasks, I think they randomly include a percentage of raw data bypassing these filters. Maybe totally off, but it sprung into my mind.

"Klicks" als Indikator misst allerdings per Definition nur punktuelle Ausreißer. Sich daran zu orientieren ist IMHO eine Form von Populismus. Leider sind die Zeiten in denen ein Paket (Zeitung/Magazin) verkauft wurde und der Erfolg als ganzes gemessen wurde ziemlich vorbei.

Wenn es allerdings nur ums Überleben geht: Zeitungen werden auch noch in Moskau oder Beijing gedruckt und verkauft. Der Weg dorthin ist graduell. Der Zerfall westlicher Medienstrukturen wird uns gerade in den USA sehr anschaulich vor Augen geführt.
