Thank you to all the WONDERFUL organizers, staff, and bands, and music lovers who helped make Fest du Nord an absolutely fabulous weekend... I loved playing music in the woods! ✨🌲🪾💖🌳🌲✨ I didn't get any photos, but here are a few recent pics of Lake Superior... She's beautiful from every angle! 📸🌊

A picture of a cliff at the shore of Lake Superior. The face of the cliff is red rock and there are pine trees on top. The water is calm and blue and there is a small rocky island in the distance. A picture of three large boulders with three small piles of rocks stacked up on the top boulder. The sky and the water of the lake are behind the boulders and both are bright blue A picture of the water where it is very shallow. You can see the light play off the sandy bottom and there is seaweed growing under the water on the right side. You can see pine trees reflected in the water as well. A picture of the Ariel Lift Bridge in Duluth, as well as the lighthouse. It is sunny and the water is glittering.

We had fun spending time with Paul's college friends (and their kids!) this past weekend. Of course I couldn't resist a little road race! 🤣 🏁🚴‍♂️👩‍🦼🚴🏼🚴‍♀️ I'm finally done with copyedits & I wrote the acknowledgments last night. It made me feel so grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years! 💗

Camping once again at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors, Minnesota. 🌲🏕️🌊 It feels good to be back, as we haven't stayed here since before the pandemic! Also a tad bittersweet because last time our sweet little Clara Belle was with us. Life is always changing! Enjoy the good moments while they last... ❤️🐶🐾

There is bright blue water on either side of the pier and pine trees off to the shore on the left and you can't see the shoreline at all on the right! A picture of Clara camping at Burlington Bay. Happy Belated Birthday to the one and only Paul. ❤️ I am so grateful for your love and for sticking by me, supporting me, and being such a wonderful partner for all of life's fun (and sometimes not-so-fun) adventures! Happy Birthday - I hope this next year is amazing for you... You deserve the best!

Gaelynn met Michael Roth when she first performed in Washington, D.C., in 2017, and he later appeared as a guest on “Sunday Sessions” in 2020. Check out his recent interview here: www.wuwf.org/text/music-a... “Sunday Sessions” here: www.youtube.com/live/yyt0k3y...

More editing today & tomorrow; I'm on Chapter 15 of 37! Yesterday I took a 'lil break from the memoir to do a painting class that Paul & I had signed up for awhile ago. 🎨🖌️ We have really enjoyed these classes (this was our second)! Now what to do with four large paintings in our studio apartment!? 🙀

Paul and Gaelynn pose side by side holding 18x24 inch canvases and smiling. Each painting shows two sailboats on the lake with the sun setting and clouds in the sky. Paul's sun is bigger than Gaelynn's (he is a Leo, after all). 🌅

Things are getting real with the memoir: it comes out April 14, 2026! 📖 This weekend is a marathon editing session, going through the tiniest of suggestions from the copy editor. It's a slow process, but worth it! I'm taking little breaks every hour; a Lake Superior boost for some extra stamina! ❤️🌊❤️

Just got back from a long weekend with my parents, siblings & all eight nieces and nephews! Highlights were playing fiddle tunes with my oldest niece, painting with my youngest niece, swimming with my sister & lots of laughter during evening board games. I am so grateful to have family in my life. 💟

A picture of three black eyed Susan flowers (Prairie Sun, to be specific) with its signature yellow petals and bright orange towards the middle, with a dark brown center. Gaelynn playing fiddle with her niece Naomi. Gaelynn has her violin upright in her wheelchair, like a tiny cello, and her niece is holding her violin the regular way. They are both reading the sheet music for a traditional tune in The Fiddlers Fake Book called Give Me Your Hand. The watercolor painting Gaelynn made with her youngest niece - it's a countryside scene with a house and a church nestled in a valley with trees and bushes scattered around. It's a nighttime scene with the full moon and stars in the sky. A picture of Gaelynn and her husband Paul smiling with Gaelynn's parents in front of Lake Mille Lacs at sunset.

Congrats to Lisa Murkowski on voting for a bill that she herself admitted was not ready in hopes that the House would change it. Now it’ll become law. She had the power to stop it, and instead chose to become complicit. That’s her legacy.

Disabled people are also going to have their rights chipped away slowly by changes in the ADA and lose their freedom to live in their community with proper support (and access to healthcare) quickly by Medicaid cuts. States are going to have to make terrible choices. This is such a sad development.

Our tiny little deck, basically the size of a postage stamp, is one of my favorite places in the summer. A view from Gaelynn's tiny patio. You can see the edge of her metal patio table and grass and trees in the distance. Way out there is Lake Superior, you can see an ore boat passing by, partially hidden by a pine tree. A zoomed in view of the ore boat on Lake Superior, even more obstructed by the pine tree now.
