The site is pretty intensely surveyed for radioactive contamination, and locations of it are marked and secured. The vast majority is concentrated in a handful of areas within the site (old processing facilities and underground tanks). The solar farm presumably will be well away from them

The Hanford site is enormous, over 500 square miles, and most of that is not contaminated. The workers on this project will not interact with contamination, most likely.

Rs figure they lose the House in 2026 no matter what because of their razor-thin majority, they keep the Senate no matter what because of how R-leaning the map is, and 2028 is far enough away voters will forget everything happening now. Time will tell if they figure right.
No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Actually, battery and H2 locos will have zero lifetime costs because the railroads don't actually plan on using them. The real plan is to use diesel locos forever, it's just bad pr to say so.
Blue/Purple/Red states that believe in science have to have their State Health Departments work together (or with Canada/EU) to create a CDC/FDA like agency that can define annual flu vaccine protocol for a large population to encourage vaccine makers and have rapid disease response capabilities.

Lotta focus on cost of rail infra in the US. Cost isn't really a big deal, we have plenty of money. Much bigger problem is the glacial pace of project delivery.
