I work out early at the gym. It’s nice and quiet the earlier it is. Far too busy after 6am. Normally it’s a 4am start but if I wake up early like 1-2am I just go and work out, then sleep deeply after I shower. Taking advantage of my irregular biphasic sleep patterns 😀

Just migrated to my new MacBook Pro M4 Pro from the M3 Pro. Going from 12 core 6 performance 6 efficiency cores to 14 core 10 performance and 4 efficiency is a very noticeable increase in horsepower. As with my Samsung S95D QD OLED TV I really do love the matte nano texture display ♥️

I have previously been a fan of matte displays, my beloved MacBook Pro 17 late 2011 had one. And after seeing just how good the present day version is, my new MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro that’s ordered and here within a week or two has got the nano texture display option.

The main reason I switched from an LG OLED to the Samsung S95D was the anti glare coating. I watch slightly side on to the right. That vertical halo to the right is a light strip on the left, as well as having a window on the left light reflections was a permanent thing. No longer.

Nvidia Shield TV gets its first widely-available update in two years – what’s new
After having a humungous clear out of clutter & junk last month, I’ve had to buy two cables this past fortnight that I definitely had multiple spares of boxes & bags that went in the recycling. RF TV & toshlink cable so far 😡🤬
The TV was WebOS 23>24, exploits for the other two were not on the patch notes; Support for Auro 3D for the shield/shield pro. New radio streaming formats for the Naim. Both my Mu-So & Mu-So Qb elsewhere in the house needed it, so does my Naim 272 preamp. That needs a laptop to update!

An odd firmware update coincidence this past 24 hours. Not only did my LG C2 OLED TV need a major webOS update, but also my Nvidia Shield Pro streamer box& also my Naim Mu-So, neither of which had any kind of updates in years. All in that one picture, though the Netgear Orbi satellite doesn’t 😂

Wow. Thanks to having no boiler for 3 weeks of the month I thought my electricity usage for January was gonna be high but not even I was prepared for that high. Luckily I had a big credit on the account which is now wiped out. The gas usage was also nuts considering it wasn’t working.

My CarPlay was horrendous and pretty useless from iOS 18.0 to 18.2 when it undocumentedly fixed itself, at least it works fine using a wired CarPlay connection now.

My heating ordeal lasted 35 days when my boiler broke down on the 27th December until 2 days ago. I had hot water via immersion heater from New Year’s Eve and six electric fan heaters throughout the house. It was horrible. So nice to feel a warm radiator next to my bed early in the morning 😊
